A Second Birth – Welcome Mountain View Hermanus!

DSC_0756

Over two years ago Mountain View Baptist Church in Somerset West started praying and planning for the birth of a new church in the Hermanus area of South Africa. One memorable time was the day our Leadership Team prayed from the top of the Overberg Mountains for the Lord to lead the way forward. And He did!

After months of hosting various Bible studies, conferences, and a lot of one-on-one meetings the birth date was set. This past Sunday, at 16:00 Mountain View Hermanus was born. Weighing? Eternity.

DSC_0792There were 90 people there to participate in the birth and it was truly an exciting day, as the worship seemed to blow the top off the nearly 100 year-old church building that is now a community hall in Hermanus. About half of the people came from the Somerset West MV church to join in the celebration and get everything ready for this special day. We are grateful that God brought some that we’d met at previous ministry events as well as new people who came because they’d seen our invitation in the local newspaper.

Please pray that way…that God will open the eyes and hearts of people to have faith in Jesus Christ and be born again. To Him be the glory forever and ever!

A special thank you to Ryan Parker for his professional photography and use of the pictures.
